True Blood Series Finale 'Thank you'

True Blood Season 7 Episode 10....I don’t like how it ended.
I get it. I understand that they wanted to show that Sookie has a family and got a “happily ever after”, but if she couldn’t be happy with Alcide because she loved Bill and wanted to be with him, how the hell did this work out?

The only reasonable explanation for any of this was that Bill didn’t have anything to live for anymore besides Sookie, but he didn’t want to take away her opportunity to have children.

I’m glad he finally dropped the “I’m doing it for you” bullshit and finally told her that he just was tired of living as an immortal and he wanted to rest with his family.

True Blood S07E09 'Love is to Die' ....Review

In our second-to-last episode of True Blood ever, Sam packed up and left, and that was nice, but otherwise the hour was spent treading water and breaking my heart. Jessica falling in love with Hoyt all over again was sweet, but I wish the writers had indicated at some point prior to this that she missed him, because honestly it kind of came out of nowhere. Similarly, Bridget teaching Jason about intimacy was theoretically a great character-building moment, but all I could think during their little pillow talk scene was “Wait... who the hell are you again, lady?”

True Blood Season 7 Episodes 5, 6 and 7

Hi guys! How`s summer?
Mine is awesome...but I haven`t had the time to write about my favorite tv show True Blood. I know...you may think this season kinda sucked...pawn intended...but we have to be #truetotheend no?

So, let`s start with some thoughts on episode 5:

As Eric and Pam search for Sarah Newlin in Dallas, Sookie reluctantly hosts a celebration of life party where people get (un)lucky. This episode has a little bit of everything you want in an hour of True Blood: humor, gore, grief, sex, and a lot of Lafayette.

Let`s move on quickly to episode 6:
The race to whether or not Sookie and Bill can find true love with one another by the end of "True Blood's" run was accelerated in Season 7, episode 6 "Karma."
It turns out that not only is Bill infected with Hep-V, but Sookie was the one who infected him. To make matters worse, her fairy blood is causing the disease to spread inside him at a rapid rate, thus leading to a quicker death. Whoops!

And tonights episode: Things I liked:
1.) Arlene. Arlene was on point in this episode and I loved every minute of it. She is one of the few characters the show improved from the books and it’s lovely to watch her have moments like she had tonight, especially her scene with Sam.
2.) Andy. He has these moments of incredible depth this season that really are nice to watch, considering his levels of Jason-esque idiocy in past seasons.
3.) Bill - I don’t mean the flashbacks, or him with Sookie, but watching this character that I’ve always hated be so humbled and laid low by his impending death - Stephen Moyer played it very well and I appreciated those scenes, even if I still don’t give a flying fuck about his flash backs, and am so anti-Bill/Sookie it physically pains me to see them together. But his relationship with Jess is legit, and I appreciate those moments.
4.) Sarah Newlin - I was on the fence about her being there this season because it felt like a waste of time. But good lord her scenes tonight, with the hallucinations of Jason, Steve and what’s his name - mighty entertaining. Especially Steve and Jason.
5.) Including Dr. Ludwig and Niall - they’re from the books so it’s nice to get them, even when it’s brief. Though what they SHOULD have done was have Niall give Sookie the Cluviel Dor (from the books) if they’re so insistent on her and Bill ending up together. I know she uses it on Sam in the books, but that ship has sailed on the show, so it would have been a good deus ex machina for them, and probably way better than what they’ll end up coming up with.
Complaints:
1.) It’s really fucking uncomfortable to watch Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have a sex scene, partially because their characters are my NoTP, but mostly because the last time they were together on the show, they weren’t married in real life. And now they are, and it is all sorts of creepy and weird to watch that.
2.) It’s incredibly disconcerting to watch one of my OTPs become characters I despise. I ship Sookie and Eric from the books, and I hate that they’ve turned Eric into a fucking idiot who does stupid and reckless things for no reason and is cruel and heartless. And Sookie is an idiot and almost a non-entity at this point. Where’s my brilliant, decent but ruthless Viking vampire? Where’s my ultra-clever, independent and stubborn spitfire fairy waitress? I hate that the show has taken them from me and turned them into awful people I can barely stand. I’m gonna go watch season 4 to get that feeling back….
3.) On that note - Eric Northman you complete fucking idiot. Here’s the only person who can lead you to the cure so of course your first instinct to should be to kill her. And then, here’s this man offering you the fucking moon on a  platter and your first response is…to say no?

4.) Also, Jason Stackhouse, you complete fucking idiot. I thought we were past this. I thought you’d grown up. Oh wait, I guess the writers forgot that the whole reason Hoyt left was because you slept with his girlfriend and ruined his life - so instead of having a touching scene where you watch your friend in pain and there’s nothing you can do about it because you wiped his memories of you, let’s have you lust over his girlfriend again. Because that’s new and refreshing - not.
5.) Again with Leddie May. I can’t even. Thankfully it was only a short scene, but even that didn’t go anywhere, come on, don’t spread out the boredom, just wrap it up and stop wasting my precious Lafayette’s screen time on Leddie May’s crazy.

Things I’m ambivalent about for now:
Whatever the fuck Violet is doing. I can’t figure out what her endgame on that is, so it’s too soon to tell how I feel about it. Other than I really liked her last season and parts of this season when she was so ruthlessly loyal to the people Jason cared about, but now I don’t know how to feel. Time will tell.

True Blood: Season 7 Episode 4 'Death Is Not the End' Review

True Blood: Season 7 Episode 4 'Death Is Not the End' Review

The Eric Northman of 1996 looks like a Ken doll. A pristine, shiny, right out of the box Ken doll.

Episode four of True Blood had reunions and resolutions. There were awesome flashbacks with Eric and Pam, and how they ended up in Shreveport. The introduction to Ginger is priceless.

Sookie and Jason both have the unfortunate duties of informing Jackson Herveax and Hoyt Fortenbury that their loved ones are dead. Jason telling Hoyt was especially emotional given the fact that Hoyt no longer remembers who Jason is. Thanks, Jessica.

The reunion of Eric and Sookie is sweet and heartfelt. They truly missed each other. The pain and sadness in Sookie’s eyes when she sees Eric is infected is heartbreaking. I felt like I was watching their first meeting again. All those years ago in Fangtasia when Little Red Riding Hood met The Big Bad Wolf.

We learn just how long Jessica has gone without feeding. The immense guilt she feels for killing Adilyn’s sisters is to blame. She refuses to feed from Sookie given her fairy heritage so Lafayette is called to the rescue.
The good vamps take out the infected vamps. The human hostages are rescued. The super annoying members of the Bon Temps mob are killed (boo hoo).

There was no Lettie Mae or Tara this week. I am damn curious with how Tara is going to appear again. I’m sure it will involve Lafayette and his ability to summon the spirits. Sarah Newlin was also missing from this episode, but I’m sure she’ll be back next week, and I will still want her dead.

I enjoyed the hell out of this episode.

True Blood`s Fire in the Hole Recap

True Blood`s episode 3 of the last season was a pretty talky episode again, with almost all of the characters appearing. We say goodbye to yet another character tonight, and Eric comes out of his stupor.
Attention! Spoilers ahead!
“You are here in the now,” a yoga teacher says. He praises a woman who replies: “Namaste,” rather ecstatically, we see it’s Sarah Newlin, her hair dyed auburn.
Pam confronts Eric, mad at him for constantly moving, then tells him about Tara, and that she felt it the night before.  He doesn’t want to fight anymore, which pisses her off. It’s about Godric, Nora, and yes, Sylvie. Sylvie? Flashback to Eric, speaking French, to brunette Sylvie in a French arbor in 1896.  They have pastoral sex until someone says “Bravo, Mr. Northman.” It’s a representative of the Authority, who scolds him and Pam for not registering and for being vampires where everyone can see him. She tells him about the soon-to-be-released Tru Blood, and how the Japanese corporation particularly doesn’t like this kind of activity. Eric answers rudely, and Miss Flanagan leaves.
Alcide in Bon Temps present realizes Sookie has gone and goes rushing to Bill’s. He runs out again as a wolf (am I alone in finding that silly?). Driving around with Sookie, Bill tells her that when he fed all the vampires at the camp, his blood was drained, so no, he can’t feel her anymore. Her plan is to hang out in the woods, being vampire bait.
Reverend Daniels counsels Sam in church when Willa speeds in with a freaking out Lettie Mae close behind. They calm Lettie Mae down and drive away, but are stopped by the mob, with Maxine Hotyenberry in front. Vince hauls off and shoots Matt, who explodes. Sam turns into an owl and flies away. Back at his house, Rev. Daniels offers Willa a snack from his arm, and he tells her how by saving Lettie Mae he regained his faith—but Lettie Mae is an addict so Willa has to go. He explains that to Lettie Mae, Willa looks like a bottle of Captain Morgan. He thanks her and rescinds her invitation to the house, and she goes flying out.
Echoing Andy, Jason tells Violet “a man ain’t nothing without family.” Violet finds that effeminate. Andy, who has freed Jessica and Adilyn from a stay in jail (where Adilyn cheered Wade up by letting him know they once made out), knocks on the door. Violet’s not thrilled, but agrees to have a truce with Jessica and let the kids hang out there for awhile. Andy, Jason and Jessica encounter the mob. Maxine Fortenberry wants to kill Jessica and Jason because of what she did to Hoyt (namely, breaking up with him). Violet rips her heart out, but Jessica is hurt and doesn’t know why she’s not healing. Has she got the virus?
Speaking of Jessica, James is pining for her, and goes to Lafayette for more of the good weed. Lafayette doesn’t have any, he offers to make a pill Jason remembers from back in his youth. Jason can’t swallow, but Lafayette can, and then it will be in his bloodstream. Clever! As they get high, listening to music, saying “here come the horns,” James says “ef the past.” “Now is all that matters”—as the yogi said at the top of the show. There’s some grooving on one another going on, but James says he’s with Jessica.
And speaking of feeding (yes, the show is pretty schematic tonight), we’re back to Fangtasia where the H vampires bicker about the food and the hunt.
As Bill and Sookie wait for vampires to take the bait, there’s more talk, Sookie says she loves Alcide, and Bill remembers having photographs made by Julius Fortenberry in 1862 of his family before he went to war. The man took two photographs (too bad the close up of the family one is not sepia and is clearly a contemporary black and white photo). Tired of waiting, Sookie stabs her own arm. The Fangtasia vampires, led by Holly, take the bait. A Mighty fight and shoot-out with Bill, Alcide, Sam and H vampires.
The Japanese corporation that makes True Blood surrounds Eric and Sylvie, and give him a Sophie’s Choice between Pam and Sylvie. He asks them to kill him, but they say the authority wants him alive. He chooses Pam and they stab Sylvie. Flashback over, Pam begs Eric not to give up. But he releases her even as she cries bloody tears. Wondering when we’ll see Sarah again? So is Pam. That’s her trump card when she tells Eric that Jason let her live. Eric stands. “Let’s go find her, shall we?” he says.
Ane we see the reason for the ecstasy behind Sarah’s “Namaste,” as we cut to her, called “Numi,” having tantric sex with the yogi. Sexposition about how she got there, and then the Japanese corporation guys show up with her picture. He admits knowing her, but not where she is, so they kill him.
Alcide yells at Bill for participating in Sookie’s plan, while Violet washes the blood off of Sookie in the river. But someone is still shooting, and Alcide is hit.
