True Blood - Sookie & Bill

True Blood continued last night on HBO, and with only two episodes left to go before True Blood is no more, things really stepped up a notch.
As we already know, Sookie put her life on the line for Bill, but did she die in the process? Did Bill get the cure that he needs? Did Eric hold off on his plans to slaughter Sarah Newlin? Head on inside for everything you need to know from last night’s episode, ‘Almost Home’.

Eric is cured!
Despite wanting to rip Sarah Newlin to shreds, Eric suppressed his urges on last night’s episode of True Blood. The episode kicked off where last week’s episode left off, in which Eric, Pam and Gus Jr. had rocked up to Sarah’s place. But, instead of killing her, Eric drank from her instead, which instantly cured his Hep-V Virus. His black veins slowly began to fade as the cure took over his body.
Tara’s walked into the light
Tara finally headed into the light on last night’s episode, as her storyline wrapped up. The Rev. agreed to take a step back in time with Lettie Mae, in which they ended up in Tara’s childhood home. They discovered that Tara had buried a gun in the garden, which Tara wishes she’d used to kill her abusive father, but she didn’t. It may have saved Lettie Mae from alcoholism and all the other crazy stuff that came wither. Tara told her mother: “I’m sorry I didn’t pull that trigger”. She added that Lettie Mae had to forgive herself, as it’s the only way that she could move on.

Violet’s dead…
This was quite possibly the weirdest part of last night’s episode of True Blood, in which Violet was finally killed. Jason and Brigette turn up at Violet’s house, and Jason makes Brigette stay in the car, as it’s safer to stay away from the crazy bitch that is Violet. As Jason enters the house alone, Violet is waiting for him and suddenly pins him to the ground. Jason is gagged and put on some weird, weird contraption, in which she promises that it will stretch his body until he’s ripped apart. Wade was also set to be a victim as he was going to have his fingers chopped off, before having his head crushed. Not only that Adilyn and Jessica were also going to get it as well… it’s safe to say that I’m glad I wasn’t inside the writers’ minds when this script was being written. But, because she took so bloody long with all the torture crap, it was Hoyt to the rescue as he shot Violet with a wooden bullet from behind. Bye, Violet!

Sookie puts her life on the line for Bill!
As we saw on last night’s episode, Sookie put her life on the line for Bill. She headed off to Fangtasia after Eric told her that the cure (the New Blood synthesized type) wasn’t ready. When she gets to Fangtasia, she reads Mr. Gus’ mind, and discovers there’s something of importance in the basement. Of course, that’s where they’d bound and gagged Sarah Newlin, as they’re going to take her blood for the new cure. When Sookie gets down there, she reads her memories and then re-gags her. Going back home to Bill, Sookie grabs Bill and Jessica and takes them back to Fangtasia – this is after she was almost killed the first time around. As Mr. Gus leaves, Eric and Pam head down to the basement to take some of Sarah’s blood to cure Bill, but before they have chance, Sookie bursts in with Jessica and Bill…

But, Bill’s a d*ck!
Sookie was worried that Bill wouldn’t last through the day, never mind until the new cure was ready, so she risked her life to cure him. When she bursts into the basement where Eric and Pam are taking Sarah’s blood for Bill, he hesitates when he goes to drink it. He tells them all that he doesn’t want the blood. WHAT! This is his only cure!! Does Bill want to die. There’s only two episodes left, and I’m not sure Bill will make it through to the season finale at this rate.
Mr. Gus isn’t all that straight forward
So, on last week’s episode, we thought that Mr. Gus had this ingenious idea to synthesize Sarah’s blood, and make sure there was enough of a cure for everyone out there. Yeah well, it turns out saving people isn’t what’s on his mind – it’s money! He reveals that he doesn’t want the cure to actually be a cure, which would stop the whole epidemic. Instead, he wants it to become a temporary treatment, so that the vampires would keep coming back to him, and paying him, to be cured for however long he decides to have the cure work for. Instead of it being a one-stop shop with a permanent cure, he’s going to cash in on it instead..

True Blood continues on Sunday (August 17) on HBO!
